Positivity.

Something that I have learned is that it takes a lot of experience and maturity to realize the things you need to change and the actions that you need to take in order to change them. Growing up I just have lived life focusing on “what’s meant to be will happen.”

I’ve always just focused on faith only and figured everything will fall into place. Recently that has somewhat changed for me. Now I still definitely do rely on faith in most cases but I feel there’s more that influences the positive and negative things that happen in your life. Now don’t get me wrong, you can be doing the best that you possibly can and negative things can definitely still happen. It’s just something that I feel helps and goes a long way when it comes to the best things in life.

POSITIVITY.

Now what I mean by this is I truly believe and feel when you put positivity in the air POSITIVITY will come back. Although I always say I have bad luck and when it comes down to it I’m the girl who will lose her last 20 dollars or drop my phone in the toilet, I still believe this.

For the past year while I lived in Brooklyn and worked in Manhattan a lot of bad things have happened to me. From being kicked out, to having to leave my last job, to health issues, things continue to fall out of order many times. I would go to work and complain to my coworkers like “DAMN IT, I have the worst luck ever. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT?!” Over and over again.

Before I moved back to Long Island the company I worked for SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. I woke up one morning to an email stating everyone at the company has been terminated immediately. I remember I cried hysterically like, “What next?”

NOW WHAT?

I was making decent money and I felt I was living a happy life, Why the change now. “IT MUST BE MY LUCK.” It took a day for me to snap the hell out of this and convince myself the new chapter in my life would happen to be a better one. Of course, I had NO IDEA HOW but I just focused on the fact that IT WILL.

I set a plan and I went for it. I told myself that I was going to take this set back and turn it into a comeback. People would ask me what it was that I was going to do from here and even when I told them what my plan was they would look at me sideways. I wasn’t taking this or any type of negativity to heart. I slowly stopped telling anyone what I really wanted to accomplish because I felt any negative comebacks would just put a knitch in my plan.

My mom was the first person to tell me “Brittinie this may be a hard place that you’re going through, BUT look at this as a positive thing.” She was seriously the first person to make me see a different light at the end of the tunnel and I truly do appreciate that. Prior to this, I saw nothing but sadness and I was definitely feeling sorry for myself.

Once I spoke with her I said okay “BRITTINIE, THIS IS WHAT YOU’RE GOING TO DO.”

While I was living in Brooklyn prior to losing my job I was continuing to save and try my best to think about my future before anything I did. Of course, I splurged at times and spent my money here and there BECAUSE I EARNED IT, but most times I was thinking of what I needed to do during the come up.

I had wanted to get my own apartment so badly in the city. It just seemed as if I couldn’t get up because the price of apartments in the city aren’t the most affordable. Unless you’re living with your significant other or you have a roommate it is hard to make it. This made it hard for me no matter how much I saved.

As much as I felt losing my job with no control was such a bad thing, I started to open my eyes and my mind. “WOW, this is your chance to move somewhere where you CAN actually move towards getting your own place that you can afford,” is what I started to think. Thankfully I have a pretty well put together resume because of my experience. Figuring out what job I would get next wasn’t too much of my worry, all I knew was that I had to make my way to it and fast.

CAR, JOB, APARTMENT.

This has been my goal list and in that order. Being that I had money saved I knew the car issue would be something that I could fix fast. I thought positively and said to myself once I get a car I’ll be able to go to interviews anywhere. Once I get a job I’ll be able to save as much as I can possible and that’s how I’ll get my apartment.

The second WEEK IN, I found a car. I felt so blessed to actually find a vehicle that I liked and that worked with my price range at the same time.

(IF YOU NEED A RELIABLE MECHANIC OR SOMEONE TO BUY A CAR FROM HIT ME UP AND I WILL ALSO ADD HIS INFORMATION HERE TOMORROW)

Once I got the car and I had told the people closest to me, they showered me with positive energy.

“Brittinie I knew you could do it. Brittinie who else do you know that can move somewhere and after the first week buy a new car. Brittinie you got this”

ALL OF THIS POSITIVE ENERGY HELPED ME. ALL OF THIS POSITIVE ENERGY HELPED ME PURUSRE MY GOAL.

Next, I needed a job. I had posted on Facebook and asked for people to let me know if they knew anyone who was hiring. SO MANY PEOPLE HIT ME UP REGARDING MY STATUS. This truly felt like a blessing to me. I felt like wow, people honestly must feel the vibe that I am a good person in order to put their trust into me being a good fit for their job.

Now that also helped boost my positive energy towards this whole situation as well. One of my friends had reached out to me and gave a great recommendation for me to her job. I wound up landing the interview and after a phone interview and in-person interview I got the job.

If anything can boost your confidence like a two-week span of your goals being reached while time is flying by, this was it. Everything has been feeling so great ever since I had taken the initiative to not just feel sorry for myself but to take all of the negative that has been thrown at me and turn it into a positive.

I truly feel like having positive energy surrounding you does nothing but ADD POSITIVITY TO YOUR LIFE.

This goes for Family members, energies, and also positive goals. If you continue to have people who think negative, throw out negative and feel negative around you, that is what will bring you down. If you have people pray on your downfall that is what will cause your downfall to come.

Sometimes you have to be selfish and cut those negative people off. Sometimes you have to bring your own positive energy and pursue your own goals while you cut others off in order for those goals to be accomplished.

This is not something you should feel bad about. This is not something that you should ever prolong because of those around you.

DO WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU.

MAKE YOUR LIFE THE BEST IT CAN BE. IT IS YOUR LIFE.

Nobody will ever cut their life short or their goals short because of you and they should never have to. Life is what you make it.

IF YOU MAKE YOUR LIFE POSITIVE, POSITIVE IS WHAT YOUR LIFE WILL BE.

No, I am not saying that you must be the happiest person at all times. You can have bad days. Bad things may tend to happen time to time. The thing I am saying is that you need to pick your head the fuck up, don’t feel sorry for yourself and tell yourself

” I CAN OVERCOME THIS BULLSH*T”

That’s the best advice that I can give. I have gone through some sh*t. I’ve had real life experiences that turned into real life lessons and I’m happy to say I have been able to live and LEARN from it all.

If you wish bad on people, bad will come to you.

Nobody is perfect.

We have all said bad things about another person. We may have not wanted the best for someone else at one point or another. THIS WILL ONLY BRING NEGATIVE TO YOUR LIFE.

If someone does something bad to you, just know their own negative energy and actions will come back to them without you having to punish yourself by focusing on them.

Pray for your enemies because God teaches us to forgive.

Don’t ever let someone else’s character bring yours down. If that’s one thing I can ever tell people it is to appreciate the blessings that you have and spread the positivity to others. You never know what type of energy another person may need just to get by to live another day.

POSITIVITY.. LIVE IT, LOVE IT.
